“Open Door People and Closed Door People” - Genesis 12:1-5
Closed door thinking is David’s brothers saying nobody can defeat Goliath. Closed door thinking is the Rich Young Ruler deciding that discipleship would be nice, but it’s overpriced. Closed door thinking looks safe, but it’s actually dangerous because it leaves God on the other side of the door. On the other hand, open door people are ready, “ready or not”. Open door people realize that we exist to obey God and bless others. And open door people have fewer regrets.
Jan. 7 - “A Blueprint or a Game Plan”- Revelation 3:7-8, Hebrews 11:8
God loves to open doors in front of us and then invites us to go through them. Yet we get nervous because we’re not sure which of the options we should choose. Nor are we sure what’s on the other side. We’d like a guarantee about what’s going to happen in the future, but typically the Lord only provides us with information on a need to know basis. In fact, He’s notoriously fuzzy about details.
